SuperClubsPLUS

I came across this wonderful resource for children: SuperClubsPLUS

Thank you for sharing this on FO2011 blog StevieBoy's Blog.

Facilitating Momtrepreneurs

Recently I used strategic soliciting on Skype and was able to connect with a wonderful new friend: Lynne Lehmer, 62 year old Momtrepreneur, a self-taught online English Language Teacher at iTalki.

Networking at LinkedIn  brought me in contact with Terasee Morris, another Self Made Online English Language Trainer.

Together, we have decided to try our hand at repurposing a training programme at Alison, an Open Educational Resource. Our project is simple. We use the "21 Steps to a Web Business" as our training material and give FREE PUBLIC CLASSES on Wiziq. We facilitate any teacher who want to practice teaching online. They can collaborate with us.
  1. We shall facilitate budding online teachers: We have invited prospective online teachers to collaborate with us in teaching using this resource. We mentor the teachers into professional online trainers .
  2. We shall facilitate budding online entrepreneurs: As we Educate, Understand and Implement the "21 steps to a Web based Business" and work as directed by the trainer, Chris Farrell, we plan to implement the instructions step by step and set up our own Web based business. We have already registered Domains of Sebastian Panakal, Lynne Lehmer and Terasee Morris, for this purpose.
We have invited the attendees to watch us in action and learn from our mistakes. They shall set up their own web based business ONLY after we succeed at our attempt. This way, we could overcome skeptics and ensure all round success.

An Indian Story: An old farmer was in his death bed. He was so sad! His sons were lazy and had not learned how to farm. He murmured to his eldest son, " I've hidden a treasure in our land. I don't remember where" and breathed his last.

After the funeral, his sons started digging all over. They didn't find any treasure. They were disappointed.

The mother advised, "Why don't we plant something, now that we have ploughed the land?"
The sons followed suit and had a plentiful harvest.

Mother said, "This is the treasure your father mentioned"

Likewise, once we have our websites up and running, we are sure to find some creative monetization there, even if the advise of Chris Farrel doesn't work for us.

We have challenged ourselves to achieve. We have burnt our bridges behind us. We have made a public announcement, we are going to make money using the "21 Steps to a Web Business".

Succeed we shall. Watch us in action. Thank you.

Anyone interested in joining this learning journey can register themselves at Wiziq and attend our lessons on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:00 pm, Indian Standard Time.

Facilitating Online Training FO2011

Yes, I have joined the FREE FO2011 training. I had joined last year, but could not complete it successfully. This year, I am there to win this challenge with flying colors.

Why do you want to learn to facilitate?
I have always been a teacher. I love teaching. As I am not a trained teacher, I have to improvise and teach. By trial and error, I have helped quite a few people become educated. As the world becomes tech savvy, I need to update my skills to reach my students spread across the globe. I may even be able to help them learn, once I have online facilitation skills. Hence I am here to learn by doing.

What are you doing now in terms of online facilitation?
I am a member of Skypes Education platform and have connected two classrooms online. Sacred Heart College at Cochin, India was connected to All Saints Catholic Girls College, Australia on International Womens Day by me. It was a fabulous experience. Now I want to connect even more schools and colleges with my leadership. To be successful in this dream, I need to polish my skills at online facilitation. Thanks to all my classmates here. I plan to learn from all of you.

What would you like to achieve, change or do more of?
I would like to be known as the person who brought digital democracy to India, my country. We have very poor and economocally backward people who deserve the crutches of technology. I want to reach out to them and empower them with technological goodies.

What do you need to do or make happen to achieve your goal?
I need to move to villages, meet the not-so-well educated people there and help them learn how to use computer and internet. Once they get a basic knowledge, I plan to get them online to network with peers across the globe. Heart-to-heart chat with people from other cultures will empower them with communication skills. Once they have become reasonably good at cross cultural communications, I plan to offer their chat friendship service to senior citizens all over the world for a nominal service charge to sustain them. This way, we could bring about more love between people, in a world without boundaries.
