Sickles Tickle Primroses

Primrose, the Nature Club of Sacred Heart College proudly reaped their reward at their coveted Harvest Festival: Land Paddy Harvest. Excited chatter of the team reflected their excitement. The college has a culture of agriculture: Principal brought out his personal sickle for the harvest.

This College with Potential for Excellence, by UGC Grading system today excelled its own excellence. “The best competition is with oneself with incremental improvements” advised Fr. Poulose Kidangan, Manager of the college, as he shared his nostalgia at the harvest festival. Principal Rev. Father Prasant Palakkappilly congratulated the members of the nature club for their whole hearted cooperation.
Dr. Dominic, who taught life’s lessons using this hands-on contribution to nature, advised the audience to do their best to protect ecology. More green activities are planned by the Nature Club, Primrose.

This land paddy project spanned 120 days from seeding to harvest. Primrose Club will serve “payasam” cooked using this rice, fruit of their labour, sweet sharing with everyone at the college.

Nature Club and Sacred Heart Alumni Association are to launch another green project: Waste to Wealth. Collaboration and coordination for this project will use Wiki skills. Sebastian Panakal & Lizy Navin, both Wiki Ambassadors of the Alumni held a seminar to explain this project to the day scholars during their presentation: Seniors Mentor Juniors.http://www.youtube.com/user/eschoolkerala?feature=mhum#p/u/6/fy3z8bXB_t8
